ABHM Pleasure Craft Enhanced Cover Endorsement
(Attaching to and forming part of
QBE Austbrokers Pleasure Craft Product Disclosure Statement and Marine Insurance Policy QM2705)
Section 1 – Cover for your Boat
What you are covered for - Loss of or damage to your pleasure craft (a) as detailed on page 25 is amended to include the following additional cover:
Motor and machinery breakdown cover
We will provide additional cover to you for sudden and unforeseen stoppage or breakdown of your motors and machinery requiring immediate repair and replacement where:
- The motor and machinery is less than 10 years old from date of manufacture;.
- The motors and machinery have been maintained and serviced as per the manufacturer’s recommendations. We will require you to provide copies of service and maintenance records in the event of a claim;
- The motors and machinery are not under warranty at the time of loss.
This cover is subject to the standard policy excess shown in your current Policy schedule. Note the Penned Benefit clause will not apply for these claims.
Lost keys
If your boat keys are damaged or stolen we will pay the reasonable cost of replacement up to $500.
Art works and curios
We will insure your art works and curios that are on board your pleasure craft to a limit of $2,000 any one item and $20,000 in total for any one claim. Subject to an excess of $100. A valuation will be required in the event of loss or damage.
The following additional benefits are amended to show increased limits:
1. (d) Search costs
The limit on page 26 of your policy wording is increased to $20,000 any one event.
2. (g) Other Expenses (vii) emergency expenses
The limit on page 27 of your policy wording is increased to $5,000 any one event.
3. Sporting equipment
The limits on page 32 of your policy wording are increased to $1,500 any one item and $15,000 in total for any one claim.
4. Personal accident cover
The limits on pages 32 and 33 of your policy wording are increased to:
- death – the sum of $50,000;
- temporary total disablement – the sum of $500 per week, up to a maximum of 100 weeks; - permanent total disablement – the sum of $50,000.
5. Personal effects
The limits on page 33 of your policy wording are increased to:
- $800 any one item for all mobile phones, prescription glasses or sunglasses; and - $1,500 any one item and $15,000 in total for all other personal effects.
6. Household contents
The limits on page 34 of your policy wording are increased to $500 per item to a maximum amount of 15% of the hull sum insured for all items, unless otherwise specified in the Policy Schedule.
7. Optional yacht club social racing risk extension
The optional yacht club social racing risk extension on page 36 of your policy wording is amended to includes races not exceeding a course distance of 50 nautical miles. This cover includes races where spinnakers and/or extras are allowed.
8. New for Old on Equipment and Accessories
“How much we pay - Loss of or damage to your pleasure craft" as detailed on page 29 of your policy wording is amended to include an additional 3rd bullet point under "Partial Loss"; If your equipment and accessories are damaged or stolen and less than 10 years old from the date of first manufacture and your claim is accepted we will replace your equipment and accessories on a new for old basis less any applicable excess.
When you are not covered for - General exclusions applying to all sections of this policy
Exclusion 11. Permanent living accommodation on page 45 is deleted.
